"Dr. Lieberman, Noted Bangor Physician, Dies Dr. Arthur N. Lieberman, 51, a well known local physician, died suddenly at a local hospital Monday. He was the husband of Mrs. Florence (Kaminsky) Lieberman. Dr. Lieberman had been engaged in the practice of medicine in the Bangor area since 1946, following his discharge from the U.S. Army. He was a member of the staff of the Eastern Maine General and St. Joseph hospitals and is a former president of the Bangor Medical Club. Dr. Lieberman received his medical education at the University of Michigan College of Medicine and Surgery. He interned at King’s County Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y. Following studies in the Bangor schools, he graduated from Bowdoin College and became associated with the Roscoe B. Jackson Memorial Laboratory in Bar Harbor. Dr. Lieberman’s military service included three years in the European Theater. He was discharged as a major in the Medical Corps. He was a member of the County and State Medical Associations, Beth Abraham Synagogue, a board member of the Jewish Community Council and the Bangor Hebrew School. Surviving, besides his parents, Abraham and Minnie (Striar) Lieberman of Bangor, is his wife, Florence, of Bangor; a daughter, Miss Diane Wendy Lieberman of Bangor; two brothers, Max of Boston, Mass., and Leo of New York, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Jewish Memorial Chapel." | |
