LENA BERG -- OBITUARY

 
Lena Berg, 77, died unexpectedly March 20 at a local hospital. She was born in Russia April 19, 1898, daughter of Joseph and Zelda Siegel. She was a member of the congregation Beth Abraham and the Beth Abraham sisterhood, the Hadassah, B'nai B'rith Women and the Jewish community Council. Surviving are one son, Dr. Howard Berg of Bangor; one daughter Mrs. Morris Bassman, Des Moines, Iowa; one brother Dr. James Siegel, Bangor; Four sisters Mrs. Samuel Sclair, Bangor, Mrs. Harold Mintzer, Burlington Vt., Mrs Hyman Segal, Plantation Fla., and Mrs. Ruth Siegel of Bangor; Six grandchildren; one great grandson; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Jewish Funeral Chapel, with Rabbi Henry Isaacs officiating. Interment was at Beth Abraham Cemetery, Bangor. Memorial week will be observed at 67 Poplar St., Bangor. Arrangements by Brookings- Smith.
